Letter from President

Greetings and salutations friends and fellow MnACC members! As the 2012-2013 President of MnACC, it is indeed an honor for me to be serving you in this capacity. I am privileged to be able to work alongside so many dedicated and passionate individuals, as we strive to provide opportunities and resouces to the students we come in contact with.

As our Past President, Jillian Hiscock, called attention to in her letter last year, 2011-2012 was a monumental year for MnACC due to celebrating our 20th Anniversary. This led to several memorable opportunities throughout the year, culminating in our Anniversary Celebration on a St. Croix riverboat cruise. It was great to gather with so many individuals who have had such positive influences on this organization over the past 20 years! Additionally, the raffle and silent auction that took place that afternoon helped jumpstart our 2012-2013 scholarship campaign, which looks to best last year's record of 27 scholarships awarded.

Looking toward this upcoming school year, significant steps have already been taken in anticipation of another fantastic year. We have strenghtened connections with organizations such as MACAC (Minnesota Association of College Admissions Counseling), and Minneapolis Achieve. WIth the exception of a few minor details, the schedule for the 2012-13 Fall MnACC fairs is almost complete. The 2012-2013 Executive Board was elected at our Planning Conference in June, and they are eager and ready to advance our organization even further.

On behalf of the members of the Executive Board, I welcome any new counselors to our member institutions! As always, we welcome your questions, input, and of course... involvement. Please don't hesitate to contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at our fairs and workshops.

Thank you for your continued support, and all of the work you do! Best recruitment wishes to all of you this upcoming year.

Sincerely,

Tom Flunker
